Hello Dear Beautiful Beings,
all the crazy work of the last few weeks did get finished in time and last Thursday evening it happened: we rolled off to Berlin, baby, bags and paintings in the car. Spending the night at my mum's we took off again at 5o'clock on Friday morning and arrived in the Zwinglikirche at 9. Mitja and I set everything up and it turned out beautifully! The location was beautiful and seeing my Goddesses there was such a joy!
I had also planned to set up a stall but somehow it turned out to be more of an altar :-) I had not brought an altar cloth (since I was thinking along the lines of "stall") but I found some purple blankets in the back of the church and as purple is the colour of the Lady of Avalon I thought I must be supposed to be using them. I also lit a candle in Her name and burnt some incence and the energy became very very beautiful. One woman said to me how very happy it made her seeing Goddess paintings in a church and how important it was that they were there.
I really enjoyed exhibiting my Goddess art work. Some of the people coming in were very interested in the Goddess and knew a lot already, and some had never heard of Her before and were very curious. I loved chatting with all of them!
When I nursed Lilith she suddenly pulled her head away as she sometimes does and milk spilled all over the floor in a thin but strong little fountain. I think in this way the church has now officially been blessed by the Lady!
I felt very blessed to have such a strong supportive man by my side. Mitja helped me so much at the weekend. I am in deep gratitude to the Lady for my family. Here are some photos from the exhibition. Click on the thumbnails to view a larger image.
Good morning lovely people,
did you all have a wonderful weekend? Mine included singing bhajans, playing pois at a medieval fair, a glorious full moon, lying in the sun with my baby, my partner and a friend, fantastic food, a lush massage from my gorgeous man, watching Pride and Prejudice (finished part five last night - I must be the last living woman on the planet who hasn't watched it yet) and doing work that I love! How blessed am I!!!
I could actually stop writing now, I am so happy, I could just leave it here :-) But I wanted to share a little of my work with you all. So what I have been doing at the weekend is working on the photos of my paintings. Since I can't transport all my paintings to Berlin for the exhibition I am working on putting together a folder with A4 prints of all my paintings. And for this I am bringing all the pictures of my paintings onto the same scale. It turned out that I needed to re-scan or re-photograph some of my paintings because the pictures I had were useless. And then I got to sit at the computer and play around with photoshop. I found it very dull and annoying when I had to use photoshop for Uni, but I am finding it wonderful now that I use it on beautiful paintings! I am absolutely thrilled about learning how to use it, because I always wanted to be able to do all these wonderful things to photos and pictures. I'm very proud to be expanding in this way and to be learning a new skill.
Having said that, I have so far only mastered a minimum of what I want to learn on photoshop. But I am looking at it as a long-term project :-) And I am so grateful to the Lady for sending me my lovely lovely partner. Because beside being the love of my life he also is extremely clever on photoshop, and very patient, even with such a demanding pupil like myself.
I'm so rich and blessed.
I have also put a few keyrings on to my etsy shop. They show mini prints of my Goddess paintings, and they are only 2,50€, so go and get lovely little give aways for all your goddess friends ;-)
And last but not least, I have uploaded two more images into my Goddess Galleries. Click on the German Wheel of the Goddess, and then on the thumbnails-the drawings were very difficult to photograph, so you need to look at the bigger versions to really see them. I have brighter version of Skadi and Ostara up and new images of Loreley and Sirona.
So, I managed to type all this before my lovely little one wakes up, this is fantastic. Maybe I'll even manage to add another keyring to etsy...
So, have a wonderful wonderful week, y'all xxx
Dear Beautiful Souls,
I am very very happy about exhibiting my Goddesses here in Bonn this winter. My exhibition "Faces of the Goddess" will be on from November 16th until January 25th 2013. I am so excited! My deep gratitude goes to the beautiful Gabriele Hähner. The vernissage is on Friday the 16th November at 4pm at the Endenicher Burg. The wonderful Elke Rothe is going to speak and there will be a performance of some sort. I haven't thought of anybody yet who could contribute some music or dancing, so if you'd love to join the fun and put yourself out there, get in touch! Let's all have a wonderful Goddess day in November!!!
I'm really looking forward to putting up my paintings in the Endenich library and to transforming the space there. I am hoping to also be able to run a few goddess events along the exhibition, but havn't discussed that with the library yet. I'll keep you all posted though! Thank you Lady for keeping things flowing! This is what I want to
Painting the many faces of the Goddess, goddesses from different cultural backgrounds, based on archeological and written evidence as well as on my own experiences of Her.
