What a week this was! I have been very busy finishing my last painting for the exhibition which will open on Friday. Here it is: Lady of the Lake.
It was around the Goddess Conference in the summer when I knew that the time had come and I could now finish the painting. I'm glad it's done now and I really like it!
The next thing then was baking like the Queen of Cakes. My gorgeous partner and I got married on Tuesday and the day before we changed the plan. Instead of going out we would have cake and coffee at our place. And the cakes looked beautiful!
The wedding was gorgeous. The weather was fantastic, all our loved ones were there, the flowers were beautiful and I married my beautiful partner. I don't like to use phrases like " soul mate", "best friend", "love of my life" etc. They are big words and they don't actually mean anything if the feeling I have with my husband isn't right. All I can say is that Mitja and I love each other very much and are very happy together. I am very happy to have married him and that's all :-) Simple.
After the wedding I went back to preparations for the exhibition. I have made a folder with A4 prints of all my paintings to take to the exhibition with me. I am only showing 14 paintings in the exhibition and now visitors can browse through my folder to see my other work. I wrote a few lines to every piece and that didn't turn out to be too easy. I paint rather intuitively and I know and feel the Goddesses that I paint. Trying to put words to my paintings afterwards was quite interesting!
I have also been on the phone last week to get everything organized for the tribal dance performance that is going to be part of the opening. The beautiful Katha Indrani is going to perform a traditional woman's dance - I am really exited about that. She is an amazing dancer and she's told me the dance she's going to perform includes wearing candles on her head! The library where the exhibition is is fantastic, the people thereare really supportive and didn't object to her dancing with fire. I am really happy and can't wait for Friday! All is ready now and I am rather proud that besides everything else I got this organized!
Last week I was also told that I could come and collect some posters for the exhibition. And so I walked down the street and suddenly spotted a poster advertising my exhibition in a shop window. It was really cool to see that. Obviously I knew that the posters were ready, but they had already been distributed and I came across this one quite unexpected. Ah it felt really good :-)
And now I really don't have anything left to do apart from setting up the space there on Wednesday :-)
So the other thing I have been doing last week was go back to my novel and do a little work on it. I havn't changed anything, I just took out a few swearwords, because people didn't like to read them. I can understand that. Even though they are part of the language that students in archaeology really do use, it is different to have them in writing. So I have chosen milder words and I'm happier with my book now. The manuscript is now being examined and if it is approved Fee und der Schlangenkrieger will soon be available from amazon. I'm really excited about this - I'd love to see a successful outcome of all my hard work...
So that was last week. I'm now off to put up some posters. Am really curious about what this week is going to bring and am calling in love, fun and abundance, creativity and beauty.
Wishing you all a fantastic week!!!xxxx
