I hope you are all having a festive season! I have spent a lovely Christmas wit my family at my mother's house, with good food, lots of booze :-), fun games and a beautiful walk in the woods. I'm back in Bonn now, and the long weekend has just started. Here in Germany we celebrate the Twelve Sacred Nights, the Rauhnächte - this would probably translate best as the Smudging Nights. These are the Nights between Modraniht, the Mothers' Night, on the 24th and Perchta's Night on the 5th. I am really excited to be celebrating Perchta's Night this year with a group of strong women who dare to journey into the Otherworld with me to meet the Lady Perchta and to receive Her blessing! (For further information check out the Events page.)
So what has happened arts-wise since my last post? At the beginning of the month, the Apple Child and I travelled to Austria to visit my dear friend and priestess sister Elaria. She has taught me how to craft felted Goddesses and I have a new passion. Actually I'm going to make one tonight. Since I am having problems with my camera right now I can't show you beautiful people the Keridwen I have already made, but will show you pictures asap. The one I'm planning to do tonight will of course be a Danu, since this is the season of Danu the Mother of Air. I am planning to make a whole set of Goddesses for the whole Wheel of the Year. Thank you Elaria for teaching me this craft!
Also I have painted two more paintings. You can find them both in the Enchanted Lands gallery. They are called "Samhain in Avalon" and "Full Moon Handfasting". Have a look at them and if you'd like a print of anything you find there, just get in touch with me, or if you'd like to give me some feedback, share what you think of them... I'd love to hear from you!
So that's all for the moment, I'll start felting now... wishing you all a beautiful evening, and since we have all survived the apocalypse an amazing new year. May the Lady bless us and hold us all. Love xxx
